Imagine… (Part Two)

“Imagine…the impact of the Church upon the lives of those in need if it cares for the people, not just their needs.” This was the challenge issued by Executive Director, Pat Schwartz, at the beginning of this year’s Dinner & Auction in October.

Love INC has long been known in Lake County for our church’s volunteers delivering furniture, household starter kits, and more – fulfilling those needs expressed in the intake conversation. Our churches have the privilege of bringing gifts of new beds, couches, dishes, and more – all covered in prayer and love.

This “stuff” is important, but it is not the most important. When we simply take care of the physical needs of people, we are sustaining their situation; we have not changed the situation.

Imagine: The Impact of Relationship

We at Love INC are not satisfied with sustaining people in need. Our churches want to see people thrive and move forward. Our volunteers want to ease the emotional pain of their circumstances. We want to restore and inspire hope. We want to return dignity to those that have been beaten down by their circumstances. This happens through relationships. This happens when we focus on people, not their just needs.

Two years ago, this realization led our churches to launch our Transformational Ministry life skills classes to more effectively live out our Six Core Principles. If we really want to help people, we have to show them that they are valuable and work with them to rediscover their God given potential so they can change their situations – to transform their lives and the lives of their families.

Imagine: Your Part

Love INC exists as a structure to help local churches serve together to love on our neighbors in ways that do just that – walk alongside, building relationships that transform. You are a part of the Body of Christ – you have a part in this transformation! Won’t you join us?

Share your “stuff” to help our churches literally ‘get in the door’ of our neighbor’s homes and start to build relationships.
Share your time. Join the Body of Christ and share the unique talents with which God blessed you.
Share your financial resources that allow our churches to continue to find ways to reach out, building relationships that transform.
